So, yeah. On Thanksgiving, I wanted us to do a family photo. A silly one, mind you, for our Christmas picture. I figured, how hard can it be to get them to all cut up at the same time, versus being serious. Let’s just say it took quite a bit more than I thought to get ONE photo that I will use for our cards (not shown here – sorry!). Chaos, I tell ya!
(To be fair, I’m a major player in the chaos of it all. Also, I spilled grease on myself. And noticed after the photos. Nice.)
Testing the lighting and such. And realizing the backdrop I often use for myself is too small for some people.
The girl finally shows up. And everyone else has scattered.
“Everyone, please stand over there so I can set the lighting and focus correctly. Please. Stop moving. Just stand there. One second. Come on!!!”
“Ok, I’m just going to come over there and move you around…Stacey, get back over here and stop taking pictures!”
“Now, I need you to move here– Stop it!”
“No, stop it!”
“Seriously, just stand there!”
I’m TRYING to do something important here!”
“Stacey, just come over here, please.”
“Good, Stacey, you stand here…Where’s Scott?”
Temper-tantrum in 5…4…3…2…1
“Now then. Let’s try this. All together. Here we go.”
“Nope, let’s move a little. Wait, come back here!”
“Let’s try this.”
“Ok, everyone make a funny face. Ready…GO!”
“Ok, everyone serious this time. Hey, what are you doing with your…oh, ok. Whew.”
“This is the one, y’all. This is the last one. This is IT!”
“You know what? I give up on all of you!”
By the end, I was crying in a corner*. But there is no photographic evidence of that. Next year, maybe I’ll just hire someone.
