Yes, you CAN ignore abuse.

I almost never watch the news. It’s better for my state of mind not to be too connected to the bad things that happen in the world. I prefer to hear about the good.

But not watching the news doesn’t mean bad things aren’t happening. People are still wrecking their cars, still robbing convenience stores at gunpoint, still coming up missing, and on and on.

You can look the other way when you know someone is being abused, too. You don’t have to see it or think about it.

You can ignore it. You can hide your eyes and cover your ears. You can not pick up the phone. You can walk in the opposite direction. You can stop visiting the victim. You CAN pretend it’s not happening, that it’s not your business.

That’s your right.

But that doesn’t mean someone won’t be hit or raped or screamed at or made to feel like nothing. It will still happen. The only difference here is, you won’t do anything about it, and so it will go on.

Maybe ignoring it isn’t the answer. It might be the “easy” answer, but it’s not the right one. Speak up. Take action. Help save each other.

It takes just one to hurt many.

Just one person noticing can save a life.

One can speak out and make a difference.

Not even one person deserves to be abused.

You are one person. Can you help one victim?

You are enough – you are enough to help many or enough to help one.
