We sat on my front steps, letting the warmth of the day wash over us, the breeze flipping our hair, and we finally said the words that had been eating at both our hearts for months: “I thought you probably hated me.” “Me too.” The thing is, this supposed hate grew out of a minor…  You’re probably going to find this just as amazing as I did, but sometimes when you work really hard, there is a reward. No, really! True story. I find it so easy to forget this, that there are small moments along the way on these journeys toward Big Goals, moments that need to be seen…  As of today, there are 18 days left until the end of Lent, and I’m restless. I’ve revamped my blog to bring it more in line with my photography, worked on the new direction (or rather, more streamlined direction) of my business, and journaled and read and sat in a lot of silence. The truth…  I want to run run run! I want to cross the finish line of a marathon! I want to feel the wind in my hair because I’m pushing my way through air, not because it’s pushing me. I want to achieve! I want to grasp joy and hold it and spread it around and leap…  “Time, which changes people, does not alter the image we have retained of them.” -Marcel Proust “Hm, I never read Proust, I always wanted to. Every now and then, I’m seized with an overwhelming urge to say something like ‘As Marcel Proust would say…’ but of course I have no idea what Marcel Proust would…  Me: Now that we have new running shoes, we can finally run every day. Daughter: Yeah, because THAT is why we weren’t already running every day. (She comes by her sarcasm honestly. Straight through the genes, I tell ya!) I have this idea that I want to run. I no longer think about marathons, but…  Every day, we are assaulted with the noise of a busy, busy world. In the middle of the noise, when we’re occupied with the nonsense, real life happens. Tragedy happens. Maybe it’s from afar and you catch it on the news. Maybe it’s the next town over. Maybe it’s your friend’s child. It happens like…
