Angela Giles Klocke » Southern Colorado Writer & Photographer

  • Welcome to my personal blog…

When I die I hope they say, “She sure lived and loved each day.”

I am a God-loving wife of 1 (I'm all New Testament like that), mom of 3+, and a full-time student, writer, and photographer. I live my life in Colorado, surrounded by love and smiles and family and friends - and cameras and books.

The purpose of my blog is to celebrate life - mine and yours. Obviously it focuses on mine and those around me, but I hope that in sharing my life (through words and pictures), you will be moved or inspired or just want to laugh.

    Thriving is my thing!

I blogged for 31 days straight and all I got was this lousy t-shirt*

College just may be absolute heaven for those like myself who are observers, who like to watch, listen, and think about the world and all the people who fill it up. University holds within it so many different types (though all mostly quite young), races, ethnic groups, ideas, silliness, etc. I can’t help but to…

Gettin’ my edumacation on

I’m one week into university life. Well, university life from a non-traditional student’s point of view, anyway (since I don’t live in a dorm room, belong to a sorority, or relate to ANY stories about partying all night and then having to roll out of bed at the crack of noon to hurry and get…

Randomness

Conversation with eldest – Me: I delivered to your complex tonight and was hoping to see you. Alas, then I realized you moved and then I was sad. Him: Oh yeah? Well, I had a dream just now that you died and I was sad. I win. Me: Wow. Well, were you JUST sad, or…

The calm before the storm

It’s 6:30 in the morning. The kidlings don’t have school, there is fresh snow on the ground, and I’m getting ready to head out for my usual Tuesday Thing. Yesterday, I spent much of the day wrapped in my electric blanket, reading, sometimes just staring off into space, thinking about how it was the last…

This post took forever mostly because I couldn’t come up with a clever title, so this will have to do as the longest bad title ever…

“So, the photography thing didn’t work out, huh?” I get this question ALL. THE. TIME. It’s because I work part-time as a pizza delivery person. The moment someone finds out I went back out and got a J.O.B., this question hits. Sometimes it’s said with a little smugness, sometimes with pity (but sure, sometimes just…

I don’t have anything to say, but I don’t reckon that’s ever stopped me before

When you have a million things on your mind – ideas, plans, thoughts, scriptures, menus, budgets, etc. – it’s funny how it all boils down to feeling like you have nothing to say. I mean, I obviously have something to say, but I’m not sure it falls into a neat little package. Does it ever?…

Turning right, right, right…hey, I recognize that tree!

In 2008, I started my educational journey at the local community college. I went in without a clue. I signed up for a business degree. A business degree? Oh, that’s funny! It is so far away from anything I’d really want to do that I was more scared than excited. By the end of the…

Reflections and other things that made me smile this week

Fall and aspens in color and water. Seeing other photographers at work. Letters from friends. Making this picture for The Tiara Project. The beauty of the sky while waiting at red lights. As I didn’t take many pictures during this busy week, I’d like to finish this post in bullet points. Awesome, inspiring meetings. Working…
