Well, university life from a non-traditional student’s point of view, anyway (since I don’t live in a dorm room, belong to a sorority, or relate to ANY stories about partying all night and then having to roll out of bed at the crack of noon to hurry and get… Conversation with eldest – Me: I delivered to your complex tonight and was hoping to see you. Alas, then I realized you moved and then I was sad. Him: Oh yeah? Well, I had a dream just now that you died and I was sad. I win. Me: Wow. Well, were you JUST sad, or… It’s 6:30 in the morning. The kidlings don’t have school, there is fresh snow on the ground, and I’m getting ready to head out for my usual Tuesday Thing. Yesterday, I spent much of the day wrapped in my electric blanket, reading, sometimes just staring off into space, thinking about how it was the last… “So, the photography thing didn’t work out, huh?” I get this question ALL. THE. TIME. It’s because I work part-time as a pizza delivery person. The moment someone finds out I went back out and got a J.O.B., this question hits. Sometimes it’s said with a little smugness, sometimes with pity (but sure, sometimes just… When you have a million things on your mind – ideas, plans, thoughts, scriptures, menus, budgets, etc. – it’s funny how it all boils down to feeling like you have nothing to say. I mean, I obviously have something to say, but I’m not sure it falls into a neat little package. Does it ever?… In 2008, I started my educational journey at the local community college. I went in without a clue. I signed up for a business degree. A business degree? Oh, that’s funny! It is so far away from anything I’d really want to do that I was more scared than excited.
