Angela Giles Klocke » Southern Colorado Writer & Photographer

  • Welcome to my personal blog…

When I die I hope they say, “She sure lived and loved each day.”

I am a God-loving wife of 1 (I'm all New Testament like that), mom of 3+, and a full-time student, writer, and photographer. I live my life in Colorado, surrounded by love and smiles and family and friends - and cameras and books.

The purpose of my blog is to celebrate life - mine and yours. Obviously it focuses on mine and those around me, but I hope that in sharing my life (through words and pictures), you will be moved or inspired or just want to laugh.

    Thriving is my thing!

This is the way we brush our teeth

When it’s tooth-brushing time for puppies, Sadee (the beagle) quietly runs and hides in the crate. Challenge (the old man), well, let me just ask you: Do you LIKE having fingers? And Hailey, she’s just the weird one. She LOVES having her teeth brushed. The moment her papa starts brushing his own teeth, she starts…

No excuses

The new season of The Biggest Loser kicked off last night, and the theme of the season is NO EXCUSES. Perfect! My theme for this year is RADICAL CHANGE, so when I hear the words NO EXCUSES, they go hand-in-hand with my theme. To have radical anything, I think one has to ignore all excuses,…

I don’t have anything to say, but I don’t reckon that’s ever stopped me before

When you have a million things on your mind – ideas, plans, thoughts, scriptures, menus, budgets, etc. – it’s funny how it all boils down to feeling like you have nothing to say. I mean, I obviously have something to say, but I’m not sure it falls into a neat little package. Does it ever?…

Turning right, right, right…hey, I recognize that tree!

In 2008, I started my educational journey at the local community college. I went in without a clue. I signed up for a business degree. A business degree? Oh, that’s funny! It is so far away from anything I’d really want to do that I was more scared than excited. By the end of the…

Of writing and photography and burning out and moving forward

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.” -Ansel Adams Over the last year, I’ve been eyeball-deep in photography. I was burned out on writing as a whole. I saw it coming and I let the fire burn out anyway. I even let writing…

I don’t think I’m better than you, but I AM God’s favorite

You cannot do anything about the past, but your attitude and mindset have everything to do with the future. Let go of the past, and let God be God! -Joyce Meyer Dear Friends, I’ve been letting go. Releasing this desire to constantly be in control, letting loose of hurts I’ve gripped onto for too long,…

There’s enough to go around

Dear Friends, Greed is not only an ugly word, it’s an ugly state of being. No one likes to be called greedy or be accused of greed. It sounds…mean, not inviting at all. When we think of greed, perhaps we think of the millionaire who takes it with him, or the woman who robbed her…

Reflections and other things that made me smile this week

Fall and aspens in color and water. Seeing other photographers at work. Letters from friends. Making this picture for The Tiara Project. The beauty of the sky while waiting at red lights. As I didn’t take many pictures during this busy week, I’d like to finish this post in bullet points. Awesome, inspiring meetings. Working…
