Angela Giles Klocke » Southern Colorado Writer & Photographer

  • Welcome to my personal blog…

When I die I hope they say, “She sure lived and loved each day.”

I am a God-loving wife of 1 (I'm all New Testament like that), mom of 3+, and a full-time student, writer, and photographer. I live my life in Colorado, surrounded by love and smiles and family and friends - and cameras and books.

The purpose of my blog is to celebrate life - mine and yours. Obviously it focuses on mine and those around me, but I hope that in sharing my life (through words and pictures), you will be moved or inspired or just want to laugh.

    Thriving is my thing!

The roller coaster that is life

You know how sometimes a day starts like this – (peaceful, serene, beautiful) – and can turn into something like this? (behind in deliveries and then being pulled over for the terrible crime of lacking a license plate light) That’s how 2012 has felt so far. It started off with a wonderful January, full of…

It’s like she’s trying to say something

Crying in the corner, Your Blog Dear Prettyful Blog, I’m in a corner too. But I’m not crying. I’m just hugging myself, rocking back and forth, whispering “I can…

Gettin’ my edumacation on

I’m one week into university life. Well, university life from a non-traditional student’s point of view, anyway (since I don’t live in a dorm room, belong to a sorority, or relate to ANY stories about partying all night and then having to roll out of bed at the crack of noon to hurry and get…

Randomness

Conversation with eldest – Me: I delivered to your complex tonight and was hoping to see you. Alas, then I realized you moved and then I was sad. Him: Oh yeah? Well, I had a dream just now that you died and I was sad. I win. Me: Wow. Well, were you JUST sad, or…

The calm before the storm

It’s 6:30 in the morning. The kidlings don’t have school, there is fresh snow on the ground, and I’m getting ready to head out for my usual Tuesday Thing. Yesterday, I spent much of the day wrapped in my electric blanket, reading, sometimes just staring off into space, thinking about how it was the last…

Following Jesus leads to $$$

Today I am writing not as some Bible scholar (Lord knows I’m not, no pun intended), but as someone who has read the Bible cover to cover a couple of times, someone who is still struggling to understand much of what I have read, how I’ve read it, and how I’m still reading it. I…

Poetry breathes from my soul

Eh. The thing is, I love poetry. I just don’t have a great history of writing it in a way that makes people go, “Ooooooh, poetry!” Usually, it’s more like, “Thank you for sharing.” Yeah. Every once in a while, I think I write something in a blog post or my book(s) that sounds poetic,…

A heart for Africa

I have loved Africa for as long as I can remember. I read books about it, watch movies, documentaries, read articles, and just love the culture, the music, the idea of where it all started. If Africa was a sole subject in college, I’d major in it. Truly. (My Compassion child is from Africa. Show…
