These days, I encourage the kidlings to use my backup camera whenever we go out.
Leave it to my husband to not take our picture-taking of each other seriously…
They had this great idea to get to the middle rock. This is as far as they got.
Sometimes I just have to hold my breath and remember life is an adventure.
The husband dared me to go stand under the waterfall with him, but the closer I got, the more freezing I found it. Plus, with my balance, slippery rocks is so not where I belong. Photo by the daughter.
The others had more courage than me.
Dear Mom — this is YOUR son. Yes, dancing and generally just showing off.
The daughter was kind enough to take photos of me taking photos (because I told her to).
And thus endth our day…

She was heading off for a day-trip to Salida. Little did she know…she’d be faced with an abandoned park restroom in her hour of need.
Cautiously, she opens the door. No serial killers hide within. A good sign.
But she’s really more worried about…spiders! She looks up.
She looks right.
She looks left.
She turns back. “It’s all good,” she says.
And then notices him: “Hey, you stop touching my camera! Put it down!”
But he does not put it down. He waits. Patiently. And she knows…he can’t be trusted. So…she…jumps out at him!
And then realizes what a dingledorf she looks like, so she strikes a pose…because it just seems necessary.

Thankful to live with an artist. He gets me. I get him. It works.

Thankful for this silly cat. She is SO funny. Hair-tie bandit. She steals them no matter where you hide them and runs around with them in her mouth. I’m thankful for the youth she’s brought out in our 10-year-old cat.

Wowed and thankful…that we could find a way to make this happen, that I am investing in myself, that I have it! It’s so cool! And to give props to my husband one more time…thankful he’s so pushy and nags me to get what I want/need for my business.

Tomorrow I’ll share more of the actual ice carvings and such.
Today is for family love and fun…
This is how you properly freeze your chin
Big chickens…no one else in the family would pose.

Hurry, Please
Yes, they wanted me to hurry up. They were sitting on ice!

Fine, I’ll go!
So, we see this guy and I tell the girl to pose. She says NO. So I said I’d go. Then, suddenly, the kidlings are brave enough. Sheesh…

The maze
I went in and took deliberate wrong turns, crying out that I was lost. Keep in mind, you can see out the whole time. People behind me were amused; I’m pretty sure the nearby cops were not.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!!!

I’m thankful for the woman I’ve become (and am still to become).
I’m thankful I can see myself now and see my own beauty, not the ugliness of the past.
I’m thankful I am strong enough these days to say what I want and demand that it be so.

*This is a cheater shot since I didn’t take it, but I must include it.*
I’m thankful I have a sense of humor.
Thankful I have grown brave enough to be my silly self in front of strangers, not caring that they are looking at me weird.
Thankful to share fun days with my husband, who took this shot.
Do I look scared?

Thankful for my best friend, who will drop anything to do something for me, even when I insist he doesn’t have to. Thankful he takes charge of projects where he knows I will cut off an arm otherwise.
Thankful he believes in me.

Thankful for our wonderful library. Thankful for the ability to go, the ability to read.

Thankful for the small things in life — a $5 bouquet of tulips to brighten the house.
