Monthly Archives: December 2009I love the library. I love going and browsing and trying to resist the pull not to grab every book that catches my eye — which means I would have to live at the library because they’d never let me bring them all home. With anticipation, I went yesterday, list in hand. I have this… I may have used that title before, or I’ve said it enough in real life that at least one of you has heard me say it. But…it’s true. Last night, I dreamt that I kept falling down. Now, we could take the dream at face value and say, “Yes, well, you DO fall a lot…. And…go! Years ago, a fellow writer (Lani Diane Rich) decided she would spend 20 minutes on her blog each day, just writing, warming up. It must have worked for her somehow because she blogs less…but has several books out now. I want to write more. Talk less about writing. So I want to warm up,… On day one of my 13-day holiday break, I was up at 3 a.m. I love when my brain and body decide to work against my will to sleep. (Where does one store one’s will, by the way, if not in one’s brain or body? Hmmmm…) All the same, stuff gets done when you add… I hate when I miss contests (Pioneer Woman), but all the same, here is a very favorite black and white of mine. Every December, right before it hits, I am convinced I will get through it this time just fine. Recent years have shown that it does get better and better. But anyone who’s ever been through something traumatic, through loss or pain, knows that the anniversary comes around and you can’t help but to count back,… |
