The eldest found an apartment yesterday and moved out, so we’ve been busy with some rearranging and spring cleaning. Thusly, no time for many words:

Shutter Sisters Photo Challenge: Spell it out

I actually didn’t intend to seek anything out, especially since time is already so limited. However, this morning, as I walked past my daughter’s bedroom door, I knew I had to capture the message she’d left.
Life has been a series of ups and downs lately, all mostly involving work. Saturday, which marked 3 whole months without missing a single day of work (an accomplishment of great proportions for me, you see), was almost my last day. On Friday, I gave 24 hours for a situation to be rectified, else I was out. Or at least out as a manager. I was told one thing, and then that one thing was taken back. Basically, the pay I was promised was not what I was going to get. And I said, “Not acceptable.”
Yeah, me.
I stood up for myself.
And I won.
Imagine that!
Today is my day off. And I’m going to have a happy one. Hope you do, too!

Every week, I mean to participate. Finally, I have logged on early enough and on the right day to do so…
Friday Felicities was started by Nattie, who went to heaven last summer. Quoting Becky, “This meme is all about creating a list of things that make you happy and Nattie knew that when you concentrate on your blessings your sorrows are not as overwhelming.”
- a flexible job
- walks with my daughter and dog
- hot coffee
- working with my husband
- time alone with my 13-year-old son
- motivating talks with co-workers
- going back to school
- free salad
- freedom to be me
Just a short list of what comes to mind immediately. Hopefully, I’ll be able to grow this list every week…on time. Participate too!
So, last week, a long, long time ago (OK, well, after a 51-hour, 6-day work week, that’s how it feels), we went to Estes Park (Remember? Road shots, and a few shots of Estes itself, and yes, that IS The Stanley Hotel from The Shining). On the way back, we decided to go through Boulder (turns out, not as far away as I thought, and now I’m kicking myself for missing a certain person’s book signing, even though I DID have to work, but still…), where we had lunch and then played at the first park we came to (as in, the first one we found).
(Inside parenthesis comment much?)
Here we have…not shots from the road, but shots from getting off the road and out of the car (all previous shots were taken from the car). Hey, none of us should ever grow up! (Oh, but in some of the shots, the rocks were so hot, I kept falling over.)
