Uh oh, I’m writing about writing

So, it’s November. That can only mean one thing – for me, that is. And thousands of other writers. It’s NaNoWriMo time! And for all of this month, I’m challenging myself to A: Win NaNoWriMo, and B: Blog every day because I have oh so woefully neglected you. And you. And you in the back. I love you all, I really do!

Mostly, you probably keep up with me on Facebook, where I’ve become quite the addicted fool with a huge problem (define PROBLEM) wherein I humiliate myself with regular regularity.

Back on track now:

So, I’m writing a book. Again. Another one. I have no idea really how it will turn out, only how I imagine it will. I have high hopes for it, as I do all my darlings.

As of this moment (at the time of posting this), I have 2209 words. I do not, however, have a clue how I got there. Circles, I think.

I’m also working on the rewrites of my memoir. For anyone who wonders where it went, it’s back under cover, getting a much-needed sprucing up. I had to ask myself: “What’s the point?” I know what I think the point is – sharing – but it has to be more than shock and awe (my favorite way to describe it in its current state). It is lacking, and after reading other memoirs, I can see better what it’s lacking. Plus, in my hurry to finish, I left out some great things that I feel are important and help tell so much more.

In addition to that, my brother Chris has asked me to help him write his story. While we have not begun yet, I know he has an important and wonderful story to share, and I’m excited to be part of the process. (You can join his Facebook group to help show your support here — STILL STANDING.)

This is going to be a very long month full of lots of writing (I have a big writing assignment I need to tackle soon for my creative writing class, too), but since I’ve decided writing is to be my CAREER (hush up all you “I told you so” know-it-alls!), it’s good practice for what is to come. Or is. Or something.

Yes, you are invited along for the ride. You’re welcome.
